making a lifted truck ride better

I have an 86 k20 lifted with a shackle flip in the rear along with 4 inch lift springs In the front. Was wondering if there was any way to make it ride better? Differnt shocks or springs?

3/4 ton lifted put lighter lift springs i had them setting right down over loads fliped those but any of that can affect ride hight also. Big nitrogen shocks dont help. Try trowing some wieght in back see if that helps.

tires will change ride quality too. I went from Michelins to BFG A/T's and noticed a huge difference.

Re: making a lifted truck ride better

What is your complaint with the ride? It is my belief that the springs take the harshness out of the bumps, and the shocks limit how much you "spring/bounce" AFTER the bump. So if the ride is too harsh, that's springs. If its too bouncy after the bump, that's shocks. Tires help a lot too. A big sidewall and lower air pressure helps. A 24" wheel with little sidewall is going to make for a harsh ride.

Re: making a lifted truck ride better

It's just overall ride quality. I'm running 35 inch duratracs with a 16 inch wheel at about 25 psi
