Eric's 52' 1ton 4x4

This is my first post. Came to this fourm beacuse of all the diffret year model fourms would prob be a lot more usfull with my build.

My truck started off as a 52 chevy 6400 2 ton dump truck. after long debate and lots of measuring i have decided what i want to build.
I have a donor truck, a 98 chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 with 350 vortec and NV4500 5 speed. Im putting my cab and fenders on the 98 model chassis. Then converting the 3/4 ton to a one ton by front adapters and changing rear end to a duall rear end. The truck will be sitting on 315/75-16 tires.
So far i got the cab sitting on the donor frame with fenders and measuring to make the mounts.

Pictures to come.

Re: Eric's 52' 1ton 4x4

Its been slow latley. Cab is just sitting there still waiting to be mounted. I bought new front tires to check clearence on fenders before mounting the cab. I went with the mastercraft courser MXT mud terrain. 315/75-16. I also got my rear dually 2.5 inch spacers in. I had a rear axle that was supposed to be a dually rear end but was to narrow, must have been a cab and chassis rear axle. So now im looking for a cheap mid 90s dually rear axle and also hunting for the lug plates to use the conical lug nuts. I had some newer pictures but are on my old phone, will have to get some more.

Re: Eric's 52' 1ton 4x4

I'm happy to see this! It is very close to my plans. Going tomorrow to pick up a 51 GMC 2 ton and will be dropping the cab on a later model chassis like yours. Are you going to try and keep the AC working? I'll be I interested to see how you hang the pedals and button up all the little things like wipers and all the other switches and knobs.

Re: Eric's 52' 1ton 4x4

Yeah have been a little busy lately build my shop so haven't had much spare time to spend on the project. As far as the a/c i will eventually have it in there but will prob be down the road. My main goal it to get it functioning and road worthy. The wipers are going to be stock style for truck and just the electric conversion kit. Mounting the pedals is going to be a little tricky and can hopefully have some more info on that soon for you.

Re: Eric's 52' 1ton 4x4

Still Haven't gotten the cab mounted but have been gathering parts. I think there is some tin for my shop in the near future and this should help with my progress.

I bought a set of tires for the front so I could set cab and fenders in correct location. Also found a set of chrome steel dually wheels on craigslist. going to run a factory style set of center caps on them also. The tires are 315-75/16
