Might be over thinking this one..

Hi guys, so heres the deal.. Im putting a c4 ifs on my 55 chevy 2nd gen. I put the front fenders on to center the wheels with the fenders.. They are the stock 17 inch wheels that came on the vette.. I got them centered and then thought im gonna be running 18 or 20 inch wheels in the front.. Thats gonna throw the wheels being center all out of line right?? please give me some advice! everyone is telling me wheels should be the last thing to buy??

No it won't change a thing. Overall diameter gets larger but center of wheel stays center of hub no matter the size wheels you may choose.

Correct.. But say I go with a 18 or even a 20 look how close I'll be to the front of the fender..

Re: Might be over thinking this one..

It comes down to center of the wheel opening at the top of the fender where it's flat... it looks center enough in the pic to tell Any difference.
any larger wheel will move further forward and back, staying centered in the opening... but center is a relative term when it comes to how others perceive things. Your choice here, center in the opening or center the wheel between the fender gaps.

Re: Might be over thinking this one..

Here's mine with a 20" wheel. To me it's centered in the wheel well, though the flat opening and where it starts to drop on both sides...but the front is a little closer than the rear.
It seems to me this is the general concensus when it comes to being center but I may be wrong?

Re: Might be over thinking this one..

I'd say you nailed it as far as having the wheels centered.

Bigger rims and tires will jut fill out the open space in the wheel well but won't throw it off center.

Compared to yours the one Lowlyfe posted looks a bit off center unless he still has to bring the front of the cab an nose up where it should be instead of leaning down hill on the frame. That may look that way because the bed isn't lined up with the cab yet though.
