Got Step Notch?
Who here is bagged with a BIG notch in the frame? I wanna see what you've got. I am running a 20" rim, but with tire, I am at 32" diameter......I welded in my 6" notch I got with my rear kit, and it's not even close. I think I need about a 10 inch notch...
Anywho.....lets see pics if you have 'em.

How many inches is your frame from the ground when your rearend is bottomed out? With a 32" tire you will need a huge notch. Why dont you down size your tire? less work- and 32" is alittle large to be running- I think. On my Suburban I plan on running 20's but 27" tall- Thats 5 inches smaller then yours so with the same notch as you I would sit 2.5" lower. Get a smaller tire!

I would run a smaller tire, but it looks like a$$ IMO. Plus when I nail a pothole, I dont need my rim to shatter into 4 pieces. 3.5 inches of side wall on your rim just doesnt look good at all I dont think. It doesnt fill the wheelwell at all.

When my car is layed out you can only see haft the rim so Its no big deal to me. My truck will be setup to ride low. But since your going to run 32" tall tire- measure from the ground to the frame and make your notch that much bigger. If you are running trailing arms then you might have to change a few things to make it go into the c-notch.

How come that notch is crooked as F*ck? It throws off the look of everything....

The factory frame rails are 'crooked' compared to 73-87's & the notch follows the rails.....

Is it me or does the frame need to be notched higher in the 67-72 trucks vs the 73-87 frame??? I will be running a 33 tire and a 4 link w/ notch but that notch is huge!!

That's a good question. I do know that my 68 actually sits lower than my 74 (headlight/tailight C/L on truck vs. truck).... but, the 74 has less ground clearance up front. My ass is continuously puckered (pauses for you to focus on that vision....) when driving the 74, yet I'll fly right over the same roads in my 68.

I just ordered up a 10" from the MAN Jason @ *****************. It is coming with (2) 1.5 inch holes 1 front and 1 back for bars to weld in. Dang this is going to be huge!

i went with a full foot notch(For 12 inch travel) but dont have pics right now, as my truck is in a different state getting a mean engine
