86 Cowl Hood Stiffner
Does any body else think that the cowl hoods could use a stiffner at the back? I just finally put mine on after it sitting in the garage for a year and while driving it seems really bouncy. Anybody out here noticed this or done something to fix the bounce?

I noticed the same thing after installing a cowl hood on my 87. Hood is still in primer and the truck hasn't been on the road lately while funds are being saved for an ls swap, so I haven't really pursued a fix yet. I am also interested in a solution if anybody has one.

I may hold off buying one till this issue is figured out. I want to make the change, but not make a mistake. Those hoods are not cheap.

What brand hood do you have? Fiberglass or steel? Bolt on or pin on?

I am also interested in others experience with this...doing body work right now to prep for paint and am weeks away away from ordering a steel cowl hood (2").
Where are people getting these from and anybody notice a flexibility difference based on 2" vs 4" rise? |
