GM Tow hitch compatibility question

Does anyone know if a frame mount tow hitch will mount equally on the 67-72' frames and the 73'-80 truck frames? (...say 1/2 ton)
OR is it a completely different design for different widths and different hole spacing, etc.
I was wondering if GM had changed anything much in that part of the truck design.
All good

Re: GM Tow hitch compatibility question

Should b ok to go on the frame but you may need to drill holes to mount for your application

Re: GM Tow hitch compatibility question

I just put a Curt Receiver hitch on my 68 c10, I took it off a 78 K10, it fit well. I just had to drill six 1/2" holes in the bottom of the frame rail.
The trailer plug was a direct fit also, it plugged right in to the factory harness.
