Which TV cable should I buy?

69 C10. Crate 350. 700R4. Edelbrock Performer manifold and carb. Tabs are broken off where TV cable attaches to carb bracket. Secured now with hose clamp and zip ties. The TV cable I see available on line have a couple of feet plastic tubing over the cable an then the rest of cable is bare. My cable is fully encased in plastic tube all the way to trans. Can't find any like it. What TV cable should I get?

when at work we install 700r4 transmissions into older vehicles we always use this TCI style cable, the outer is adjustable length, and there is always plenty of inner cable left for whatever kind of bracket i have to use..

Re: Which TV cable should I buy?

I found a video that shows how a smaller sheath slides out of the bigger one. Feel like a real DA for asking the question

I'd just find the right width hose clamp to secure it firmly and call it good. Put the screw part where you can't see it, cut off the excess metal with a dremel and maybe bust out a can of flat black paint to hide the clamp.

I worked my entire career in Arizona, and anything plastic gets crispy rapidly, comparatively speaking. I've had to put many a hose clamp on customer's cars to save them money and it works just fine.

Or if the hose clamp is too...., try some of this on the new cable lower part. I assume when you say all the way to the trans you mean the cable housing. And beings how it is not easy to see, I assume you are concerned about weather-proofing.

Re: Which TV cable should I buy?

My TCI cable has been working great for 14 years now I think.
