95 K1500, been sitting, brake fluid res empty

I am the original owner of this truck, it has 102K on it, majority of those miles are freeway miles acquired in it's first fours years of life. In the past fifteen years it has not seen 10K mi. I use it now mostly for camping and pulling a light weight fishing boat.

After sitting this winter I cleaned it up and check the fluids, the brake reservoir was empty (some fluid remaining), front & back. I poured in some BK fluid and pumped the brakes, no question the system needs to be bled which I have yet to do. When I attempt to move truck the brakes are hanging up and not fully releasing.

Tomorrow I plan to pull the wheels and check out the system. Any bets as to what I might find... look for ?

Thx

Leaky master cylinder back seal or brake line rust fracture

Leaking wheel cylinder or caliper seals. Fill the reservoir and pump the pedal for a while. Then start looking for fluid at the wheels or under the truck.

what are the chances it was low and leaking before you parked it? Also check for the actual lines. Someone could have stolen parts when you were not looking. I once had a bleeder screw get taken. Mean thing to take but was taken nonetheless.

Update:

I have inspected the entire brake system, I have not been able to locate a/any spilled/leak fluid. The gasket below the cap on the master/cly reservoir was not (totally) in place, this now has me wondering if the brake fluid may have evaporated ?

I filled the fluid, pumped up the brakes, they seem to be working fine. I will be keeping my eyes open for problems.
