Ls swap Radiator

I am in the process of installing a 2008 LY6 with a 600 lift cam into my 67 c10 SWB. what Rad would you guys recommend? Is there a a new car rad i can use like a camaro or does anyone know of an aftermarket drop in LS rad for a C10.

Does it need to be Ls specific? I ask because I don't know. Seems odd a heat exchanger would engine specific. Summit list a lot of them, but they're demensionally specific. Tape measure handy?

Thats why i am posting this been learning as i go and i wasn't sure if there is anything specific to worry about, or if can just run it with the old rad.

Maybe the hose diameter? Other than that I don't know. A Radiator is a radiator. I'm thinking there isnt a specific radiator. Lots of Ls swaps in to drag cars and sand rails. I'm just an idiot though, there was no info on the Ls section?

From quick search I think it's just the hose diameter on inlet and outlet. Also something about steam holes? Check the Ls swap Faq page. Good luck, sounds fun. Maybe Silverado hoses?

Many options on an LS swap radiator. Couple of vendors here carry or make them. LS engines have both the hoses located on the passenger side and the swap radiators tend to be double pass. The steam port provision is also made into many of them. I have a be-cool radiator that was from an SBC. The top hose outlets in the wrong place for the LS motor (right side, pump outlet is on left), but it can be easily addressed with a very long top radiator hose, OR more elegantly, a hard-piped section of tubing.

Mine is stainless, and I've seen a few other members take a similar approach with stainless, aluminum, and I believe even a copper pipe. I have the hose part #'s and more pictures of the process in my build (link in my sig) if your interested.

I don't believe all LS motors have hose inlets on the right side. I have a 2003 Silverado with 5.3 that has top hose port on top left and lower hose on lower right just like most other GM products. It has a long top hose that crosses over the top of the radiator.
I am in the process of swapping a '03 6.0 vortec into my '72 C10 and am planning on using all stock components from the Silverado for simplicity, and will likely upgrade to the electric fan set up from '05 up Silverado.

All the LS water pump inlets are on the passenger side (left), tho depending exactly which w.p you have, the angle will change. SBC top hoses exit on the upper right (driver) side, which is why the crossover is needed.

You can realistically run any radiator and hose combo you want, as long as you have clearance around the fan setup, and without impedance to the intake.

I am using my stock '72 radiator with radiator hoses intended for a 2005 Silverado. I had to cut about an inch off both ends of the lower hose to make it fit, but other than that, they work great.
