Done for Now!

The Story: Sold the '70 Corvette that I had for 17 years in December 2013. Took about a week and bought this nice unmolested truck. 77k miles, original bill of sale and protecto plate. Dealer installed A/C. 402, 400 trans, power steering and front disc. First pic is day I got the truck. And the Corvette that went to Florida. Removed the bed in April last year and started the rust repair. This past Sunday I finished mounting the bed.

Wow nice job....very nice truck!....and a highlander to boot! Nice custom work there too on the seat console.
The only thing I would add is the factory tilt column.....that's a great option to have and always useful.
Again, very nice work!!
all good

Re: Done for Now!

Thanks guys. All those years I had the Corvette I would get the occasional guy that would say "Nice Car". After just a few days of driving the Truck the attention it gets from people is amazing! So fun to drive.

Re: Done for Now!

Nice!!! I work for the city and I believe I saw your truck over the winter with the bed off and it looked like the frame was done. It gave me motivation to want to restore my 68, thats for sure!

I like that story! Let me ask...did you have one of those cheesy corvette club jackets that all Vette guys wear? I always say that these trucks are so special because they weren't made to be special. It was the test of time that made them special.

Oh, and that's a sweet truck!

Re: Done for Now!

Got me Earnhart. After I first got the car I joined the club and got the jacket. Didn't take me long to make my escape.

Yeah, I plan on a disc brake, drop spindel conversion on mine along with new coils this year now that I have decided to keep it.

Re: Done for Now!

I saw some 68 NOS front trim pieces at the Lincoln swap meet Sunday. Guy had the Hood piece and headlight extensions.

Re: Done for Now!

Damn, I forgot all about that swap meet with being as busy as I have been. What was he asking for them? I would like to start collecting NOS/ excellent used trim for it when the time comes.

Re: Done for Now!

$50 a piece for the extensions and $250 for the hood piece. There was a lot of truck parts. I went to a bunch of meets last year and didn't see much, but there was a bunch there. Wahoo swap meet in April.
