74 c30 Frame question
Hi, I recently purchased a 1974 c30 cab & chassis. The front crossmember looks like the previous owner had a chain wrapped around it to pull stumps. I believe this crossmember is supposed to be curved but I am having a hard time finding a decent picture or diagram.
If anyone has a clear picture that shows how this piece is supposed to look I would greatly appreciate seeing it. Thanks. |

Re: 74 c30 Frame question
It's dark here, but here's a picture I just snapped. Up is toward the front of the truck (meaning I was in front of the truck with the camera pointed somewhat up). This is a C20 rather than a C30, but I don't believe there's much difference. It is curved somewhat forward, and while there is a significant ding it doesn't look big enough to me to bend the whole thing, but the whole thing is curved somewhat forward (as if someone was in reverse trying to pull a stump)

Re: 74 c30 Frame question
Thanks for the picture. The crossmember on my truck is bent allmost into a V. I guess it's time to get out the sledgehammer and do some careful adjustments.
