72 chevy c10 engine swap
Hi all, I currently have a 1972 c10 stepside, running a 250ci l6 motor, which I'm looking to swap for a v8!! Does anybody know what v8s fit straight in without any mods?? Obviously a v8 from a c10 is preferable & silly question but would a a v8 from a c10 fit straight into where a l6 came out of, or do I need to move engine mounts?
Cheers all Last edited by 70LonghornCST; 03-13-2015 at 11:16 PM. Reason: WTB posts limited to subscribing members |

Re: 72 chevy c10 engine swap
There are many ways to install a V8 in a factory I6 truck, from the factory style install (many changes) to slap it in as cheap as possible.
Sift through a site search result and see what works best for you.

Engine Mounts can stay in the original holes but you'll crowd the firewall/distributor. Best to mount it in the forward holes. |
