Doors
I need to move my DS door out in the middle, it hits the cowl for about 1 inch. The gap at the front is 1/8 +/- 1/32. I can not move the door aft any more because it hit the striker. In the maintenance manual, the body hinge mount only moves up and down, but I need to move it outboard. At one point it said that you can slot the holes in the body hinge sideways to get the clearance you need. How do you move the hinge sideways if the hinge is already fitting tight in the depression for it? Has anyone done this before? 53 3100

Re: Doors
Are there extra shims under the striker? I have seen some with added shims to move the striker out a bit. That is usually because the cab has been tweaked a bit in a previous wreck for another reason.
I think what I'd do first is to take the striker out and see if I can fit the door to the opening so I have and acceptable and even gap front and rear of the door. Once you get that handled you can deal with the striker clearing the door.

Re: Doors
The striker already over as far as it will go, because it is hitting the cab. So I hogged out the upper body hinge bolt holes about 1/16 inch, took a bfh and moved it over, now it no longer hits the cowl. thanks for input. Randy
