Your Transfer case is a 208.

Try LMC truck.

Looks like a 205 by the linkage down the hole. Classicparts has them for $40. Cheapest I could find so far.

no problem. but yes, i have been aware of the lmc retainers for quite some time they just don't list the year i'm looking for.

it's strange how they stop at 1979. i called them and they told me they do not keep mechanics on staff and they would not be able to help me. needless to say, the lady at the calling center was having a bad day it seems.

i really want to try one from lmc but keep getting hung up about the model year. i might just give item number 5 a shot with item number 9 boot if nobody sees any glaring problems with that idea.

as always, thank you all for the advice!

My 76 has the shift pattern on the retainer plate, an 80 that I parted had the pattern on the knob. Which style are you looking for?

Re: NP205 Shifter Trim/Plate/Retainer

After 1980, the only trucks with the 205 were the 1 tons. The problem is that your K10 high hump is set up for the 208 boot assembly. You might want to make an adapter plate that bolts into your high hump and then cut out the rectangular hole to use the 80 and older style boot and trim ring.
