Stuffing big wheels under slammed C10s. Who has experience and pictures?

Hello everyone, I have a full set of 16 inch old school hot rod steelies from Coker Tire. I'm planning to put 235/85R16 tires on them.
I know there are pretty serious mods I need to do, like remove the inner fenders to start. Just wondering if anyone else has experience? Any tips/advice is appreciated.

This is the truck all the way down, it rides a little higher than this.

Also, 235/85R16 tires measure approx 31 inches tall and have a 7 inch tread width.

Here's a pic I found that looks to be about the same size wheel, however mine will not be this low:

Yea, it seems I'm pioneering this mod. I've seen massive rims with LP tires, but no tall skinny wheels, except that dually pic. I'm wondering if the fenders interfere with cutting the wheel side to side...

Your trucks looking great and I think those tall tires will look killer.

Wow, that pic of that slammed dually is awesome. I thought I was the only one in the world crazy enough to build a short bed dually. Well guess what. I am not alone out here.

Anybody have any clue whose truck it is? Love to find out more about it and how in the world did they get that nose down sooo low?

Mine is about a mile in the air compared to that bad dog.

Thanks, I really want to slam it all the way to the ground eventually, like the dually. I think its on c10forum.com? It was a mason dump.

Sweet looking truck. What is that tire size? I know 31 x 10.5 on 15s are not actually 31 inches.

So are those 15 inch rims? What changes did you have to make under the hood? I'm guessing the hinges had to go?
How high do you have to raise the truck to cut the wheel all the way?

Re: Stuffing big wheels under slammed C10s. Who has experience and pictures?

It's on a dropmember so the hinges had to go. They should turn most of the way when layed out but there's a lot of fender cutting to do first. My wheels are 16's

Thanks for the info, I think you have the same tire I'm looking to get, since those rims are 16's.

I have Choppin' Block tubular control arms, Airlift 2500 bags, still using the stock spindles. The bed is stock, I just modified the fenders.

All my suspension info is here: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...t%3A+nightmare

Swar,

Thanks for the info. I will check it out. I have no plans to slam my 68 dually yet (remember I said yet), but am thinking about it on a 63 GMC shortbed fleetside I have.
Decisions, decisions.
