fuel tank selector switch mounting?
Could anyone be so kind as to shed some light on how the '77 selector switch mounts in the dash? I'm upgrading from the valve in the floor to the switch but I'm not sure exactly how it mounts so I dont know what kind of holes I need to cut in the dash.
This is a pic I found of one like mine. http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/sm...0;attach=19694 It looks to me like it goes bezel outside, switch inside, with some kind of nuts that screw down on the plastic pins? Thanks, Matt |

Re: fuel tank selector switch mounting?
the big flat piece goes on the outside and the it is held in there with some little clip type fasteners and the switch goes in from the inside.
here is what mine looks like and its placement. it is just to the left of the ash tray.

Re: fuel tank selector switch mounting?
What holds the switch to the bezel are called PAL nuts. they screw onto the plastic posts. The bezel mounts from the outside and the switch from the inside sandwiching the the dash between them.
Here is a picture of the missing part(s).

Re: fuel tank selector switch mounting?
be careful when removing these, if you are too forceful, you will break the plastic post on the bezel.
