Removal of instrument cluster
Let me first say that I am like a farm boy in physics class when it comes to working on my truck but I am hooked and can't stop wanting to work on it.
That leads me to this. I know this has been addressed and I have tried to find and read all the post I could about it but I have hit a roadblock. I have unhooked my speedometer from the dash to replace the dash lights. When I put the speedometer back in it makes that famous annoying noise. I can drive with the speedometer unhooked from the cable and there is no noise. So I'm thinking that the cable is fine. Am I putting the actual speedometer back on wrong or does it just simply plus back in? Any help on what steps to take next would be great. I know this type of situation has bee addressed 1000 times I just can't seem to understand. Thanks For Any Help. RedSierra |

Re: Removal of instrument cluster
I hope mine doesn't do this. I had mine out this winter doing a dash restoration and I haven't driven the truck yet since doing so. I will await to hear some feedback on this issue.
But I read recently that they need greased and we probably needed to do this before hooking it back up. |

Re: Removal of instrument cluster
If it was fine before ,it may not be seated right
I'd try looking up from behind see if it's seated ok
