WTB nice Chevrolet tailgate

I'm looking to buy a very nice and straight OEM chevy tailgate for my '71 blazer, I've heard that the truck one would also fit (there's a strip on top of the blazer one, which I already have and that's the only difference that I know of)

I'll pay top price for right one, let me know what what you guys have.

Thank you. Paul.

6772king, here's a pic of what I want mine to look like (no letters)
it'd be a crime to do something like that to new takeoff tailgate.

boytoytrading, sending you an e-mail.

Still looking for original tailgate in nice shape I don't want to buy a repro, unless I don't find original.

I want to get one as nice as they get, as long as is not bowed on top or big dents in the inside, rust surface is ok, 100-175 doesn't seem to bad, I'll pay top price for a nice worthy one, Thanks for checking on that for me.

Paul.

Tailgates

Paul, I have a couple. I think there is one that fits what you are looking for. I wasn't going to seperate it from the bed, but what the hell. It's a chevy with upper/lower trim still attached. Straight. No rust. $150. I'd prefer not to ship. Let me know if you need a pic. Thanks.

Tailgate

Paul, here is a pic of the tailgate (my digital camera stinks). The gate is straight and rust free (has a few very small spots of surface rust. I'm not sure if you can tell from the pic or not, but there is a slight dent by the letter E. I would like to get $150 for the tailgate. Or if you want the whole bed, I'd let it go for $200 (I need the room in my garage). Driver bedside is excellent, front panel is good. Pass side has very slight rust above wheelwell. The floor has a few spots that would need patches welded in (about 3 spots 4" in diameter). Suprisingly, the rails underneath seem to be good. Let me know if you need any more pics. Thanks.

tailgate

Paul, the grayish area is where someone sprayed some white paint over some surface rust. I will try to capture the dent in a better picture, but I'm not sure you will be able to see it. It is a very gradual dent. It may stick in about 1/4" at the deepest spot and might cover a 12" long area. I had the same type of dent in my 67. My neighbor had a stud type dent puller (it welds a small stud to the dent). He then used a slide hammer and it popped out. The tailgate is straight (and even the backside isn't beat up). But it does have surface rust on a spot or two and the dent. I should have a pic by tomorrow.

if all else fails I have brand new ones w/ out letters for 150.00 and they arent the cheap ones that dent if you lean on them, and if you want to see one (the one in the pic has a banner and trim on it) this is one we had painted and we put on 2 days before world of wheels because our NOS one that we saved for the truck was twisted http://www.****************.com/ww2003/WW6.jpg
