No. Only an overdrive automatic was available with the 305.

Re: 84 c10

I will disagree: The 305 came with a 350C tranny, which was the 350 that had a lockup converter. My 84 had one and so did my son's 86. We pitched both of them for 700 R4 trannies.

Re: 84 c10

I think the TH350 was pretty much standard equipment forever.

My truck originally came with the 305/350 combo.

Edit: Mine is an 82 Model however.

Re: 84 c10

That sheet Keith provided shure shows GM issuing only the 4 speed tranny though. Weird.

Is it possible they reintroduced the TH350 midway through the year? Or some weird Cali law?

Re: 84 c10

my gm parts book say 1984 c1(03)=2 door cab, 305h motor, (mv4)=350c part #8647561 trans code xa (i think the xa is stamped on the trans side could also have (m40)=turbo 400 stamped code mf) just going by dealer parts book. Bob

Re: 84 c10

i just did some more searching and Keith is also correct in 84 a c109(03) with a 305h could have a MD8 but only with a 3.08/3.73 ratio rear axle and fed emissions trans code stamp would be 4MK

Re: 84 c10

My '85 came with a 305/TH350C

A friend of mine has a '85 with a 4.3 and a TH400, never understood that one.

Re: 84 c10

Looks like I may have grabbed the California chart instead of the Federal emissions chart.

I'm on my phone right now but I will pull it back up next time I'm on my laptop and see if that makes a difference (Fed vs Cal).

Re: 84 c10

My bad; you all are correct.

Page 21 shows MX1 as available with the 305 for Federal emissions.

Sorry to generate confusion.
