Junkyard trip today

Went to a salvage yard out in the country close to home today. Thought I would share for all you pics junkies. Old guy has 4 or 5 64-66's, 1 60 or 61 short fleet (PICS), and 1 60 or 61 gmc short fleet with a v-6. Both 60-63 trucks have good windshield stainless trim, shame to see it go to waste! Also had a few 67-72 trucks and over a dozen square bodies, went with my buddy to get some interior parts for his wife's 80 4x4 short bed. I'm getting the custom cab cloth seat and taillight lenses of the 64 or 65 in the pics for $50.00, heck of a deal. The short fleet Chevy has the rare chrome on it and the bed sides are rust free, might have to ask the old guy what he wants for that. Enjoy, Joseph

Joseph, you better get that side trim and the behind the cab trim from the short fleet in your last picture. They are rare.
Greg.

Does the seat you are getting still have intact factory upholstery? If so, Major score! Sure would like to find the same for myself.

Re: Junkyard trip today

If those trucks were at pick n pulls, they would be stripped out on the first day. Old private yards are becoming more and more the place to visit.

Yet another case of where a community slush fund would come in handy for sanford66 to go in and buy the good stuff and sell it on the board.

Re: Junkyard trip today

not sure if this is appropriate but if he is asking a decent price for those front hubcaps off that 65. If it's a c20. Maybe we can work something out...I don't mean to offend in any way Though

Re: Junkyard trip today

The seat does have a little wear, but the foam is in excellent shape. I'm getting the seat to put in my driver 66 I just picked up. All the seats I have in the trucks in my personal salvage yard are pretty much toast. The guy that has this yard can be hard to deal with sometimes, just depends on the day. I didn't even notice the chrome on the back of the cab on the short bed, may have to try and pick that up. Joseph

Great find

The one with the 4 speed appears to have a high hump floor pan as well. What a find!

Re: Junkyard trip today

All of the Custom Cab trim on that '60 would be worth trying to talk the old guy out of. Even if it isn't perfect, it can be repaired.
