Dirt Roads

I posted this in another section of the site a couple weeks ago and didn't get any response, so I thought I'd post it here.

I live two miles down a dirt road, so by the time I hit the hard top my rig is dusty.

I like to wipe it down and get the dust off of it before I go cruising.

I'm reluctant to just take a cloth to it, figure it might scratch.

I was thinking a big feather duster or something along those lines?

Anyone have a favorite for this?

I've used this one for years, but Only for the slight dust that settles on a vehicle sitting in the garage. Not sure I'd use it for real road dust.

X2 I believe it would work for you.
Another thing is Meguires Quick Detailer.
Spray on wipe off. More time consuming but great results.

That duster should work, I'll ask them before I purchase.

It's basically road dust, very fine....so it should be the ticket.

The Meguires Quick Detailer is always a good choice, I mainly use the Mothers equivalent.

Not too sure on the Lucas product yet, been getting different reviews on it. Some say it leaves a build up.

Swiffer?

My wife uses Swiffer on the inside of her truck, don't see why it couldn't work on the outside too.

I have a microfiber towel handy when it comes to wiping anything on the surface of my truck. I've been using Meguiar's quick detailer too, for the mirror (i'm abit touchy with windshield residue) i like to use Invisible Glass. I always have them in my truck.

Another tip is keep a good coat of wax/sealer on your truck. It will help a lot to keep stuff from sticking so much!

I use Meguires and I also use their Quick Detail spray so it has a decent slick finish, but dust still shows.

I was using a Microfiber towel but started to worry about the chances of scratching it.....which is why I was looking for an alternative.

I didn't mean the wax would keep it clean, but it will help keep dirt from sticking to the surface, and make it easier to maintain. I use the tried and true 'California Duster" to get most of it off. Then you can use a microfiber towel, and some quick detailer, to get the rest.
