Questions regarding swapping dash instruments

Hey everyone,
I'm looking to swap the factory dashboard my truck came with (fuel gauge, speedometer, and a couple of dummy lights) over to a dash that has instruments for oil pressure, engine temp, voltage, etc (no tach though). I have roughly three dashes from donor trucks and just lack the know how/required lines and wires. How complicated is this swap? Will i need different sensors for my engine or will I have to change my wiring harness? Any information at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Welcome to the board.

See third item in this link. It should answer your questions. You need a different temp. sensor and an oil line to run from the engine.

Okay, great. Thanks, that's an excellent source. Looks like j just need to buy the oil sending line and a new temp sensor and wire for it, and the rest is just a little rewiring of the pre existing setup.

If you need any further help with this, let me know. This is what I do on a daily basis and have helped many members here do the same conversion you are doing.

GMCPauls website is a good place to start.

Take care,
Tom
