floor pan and kick panel replacement

I am wondering how far up the full length floor pan goes up towards the firewall, my trucks pan is shot around where your left foot would sit and up towards the firewall, about 3-4 inches, about the same area where the front wheel throws dirt. Also the kick panel mostly on the left side, but also has similar rusty areas, the kick panel rust goes up about 3-4 inches. Will the new lmc kick panel and floor pan cover these areas completely or am I gonna have to fabricate some panels. Anyone have any pictures of replacement on your projects, also for doing floor pan and rockers would you recommend bracing the cab before cutting, if so, what kind of steel to brace it up so the cab doesn't shift and where would you attach it..

anyone else have any good pics of their build with this type of replacement, I seen this post before but I was wondering about the LMC pieces. Also any good pointers for starting this job.

Working on the same here shortly. You see the 3 bolts by the door pillar? The upper edge of that where it's folded over is the end of the floor pan.

I posted a lot of photos in my build thread. The sheetmetal replacement on the driver's side of the cab begins here: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...2&postcount=39

My truck has the exact same location and amount of rust as yours does, thanks for posting. Keep it going.

That was only a single post. If you click the link to the thread, you'll see the installation of the replacement panels.

Re: floor pan and kick panel replacement

awesome post racecougar, it will come in handy. I am on the fence right now if I should chop my roof off and swap out with a new used roof, or repair with patch panels that I have bought. Or drill out spot welds and remove entire roof panel inside cab, I have a donor cab roof in great shape that I can remove.
