Finally got a truck

Hello all, I have been a member here for a long time and read all the posts but haven't posted until today. I have been looking for a truck for a long long time and finally got a 55 last night. It is pretty ugly right now but I plan on getting it running and stopping and then, I will figure out exactly what I want to do to it. I am sure i am going to have a million questions as I go throught it.

Mike

Looks like someone's hunting rig! It also looks like a really good start to a very nice project.

Re: Finally got a truck

Mike, welcome!

Apologies in advance if you already know but '55's are divided into '55.1's and '55.2's. First half of year were Advance Designs and second half were Task Force trucks.

My truck looked worse than yours when I got it. I did the same as you, got her running really good. All belts, hoses, fluids, filters changed out. Tuneup, ignition wires, Pertronix, radiator redone, and four matching wheels/tires. THEN a Rustoleum redo!

Re: Finally got a truck

Looks nice and solid. Congrats and have fun. I am also a 6 year member and made posts #25 and 26 today. I guess different strokes for different folks. One day I may even post pics of my truck that I've had for 10 years now.

Re: Finally got a truck

Thanks for all the comments. I am sure I will be posting a bunch more now that I have something to talk about. I was pretty excited today because I got it running! That was something I didn't think would happen for weeks.
