What Are These?

I purchased a 1968 project truck off here and these two pieces were in the bed when I took delivery. I do not know enough history on these trucks to determine if these are from this era. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: What Are These?

They look like the door trim on a 71. hard to tell by the picture though.

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Those are pieces of the formed metal strips that run down the bedside od a wooden bed truck which attach the outer two bed boards to the bedsides. I cut mine when I tubbed the bed leaving two pieces on each side.

Re: What Are These?

I vote for trim pieces at the top edge of a door. Don't know if it's for a truck or a car though. My 67 Chevelle has this type of trim that holds the seal against the glass.

Re: What Are These?

This is my guess!
They look like the upper door panel trim pieces on my sons 1970 C10 Custom Deluxe. Its the trim that screws to the inner door and the door panel slips into it at the top and then the inner door panel screws to the door at the lower part of the panel. Look at Andy's picture, it is the chrome strip at the top of his gray door panel above the arm rest.
Andy truck's looking good!!!

Thanks man! I did those panels a couple years ago myself. I'm fixing to do something a little more to them I hope. I want to add some kind of design into it.

Re: What Are These?

67-71 gm truck door panel upper trim: you got the nice ones that are chromed.
A lot of them are steel that are painted the same color as the rest of the vehicle. If they are not to bad looking; wash them with soap and water to get the crud off and then buff them with a buffing wheel and the correct buffing compound. Did this to mine and was surprised at the results.

Re: What Are These?

Ok, we are going with upper door panel trim. I will hold them up to the door to see if the bolt holes line up.

Thanks for the replies.

Re: What Are These?

Upper door panel trim it is. Bolt holes line up. Thanks everyone for clearing that up. I never would have guess that.
