Transmission mounted parking brake

Would any of you happen to know a good source to find parking/emergency brake parts for these old trucks? I have a drum on the rear of my transmission attached to the drive-shaft, and a cable dangling there, but that's it. I believe this is the setup I'm looking for in the picture. I think I've heard horror stories of these bursting into flames. Has anybody done any upgrades to a better setup? I always thought my Dad was pretty anal with his work, but after getting a better look at some of the thing he's done over the years to this bus, I'd like to slap him.

Thanks,
Bill

Re: Transmission mounted parking brake

Ha! At least you have a drum. I got squat. Except for the mounting bracket and the rest of the stuff going up to the handle. As far as the external band type brake, McMaster Carr sells a material that should do for the lining. Anything else........Well....

I'm interested in this too! My band is worn and doesn't hold!

Hy Guys, If you could be specific about the year and size of truck we might be able to help you at least identify what is missing. As for worn out band lining, any good brake lining shop should be able to reline the band, hope that helps.
