No brakes?

I put spindles on the front of my truck which required me to take the calipers off. Took em off, re-installed everything, made sure the brakes were properly bled, and no brakes what so ever.Brake light is on the dash too. Master cylinder is full of fluid, I can't figure this out. The truck stopped perfect and no lights on the dash before I took the calipers off. Any help here?

Re: No brakes?

You may have set off the low pressure warning switch while you were bleeding the brakes, there is a plunger inside the proportioning valve that moves towards the side with low pressure to set off the warning light.
You can sometimes reset the plunger by pressing down on the broke peddle hard.
If that doesn't work, try having a helper press firmly on the peddle while you open a bleed screw at the rear wheels (assuming that the plunger moved towards the front). This should put more pressure on the front system than the back and move the plunger back to a centered position.
If that doesn't work, try repeating this process on all four wheels.
Hope this helps.

Re: No brakes?

You need to reset the prop valve.
Push in and hold in the button (until you're done bleeding)on the front of the valve.
THere are tools made to hold the button in but it's easy to rig something up.

Re: No brakes?

Could you post a picture of the button you are talking about? I don't know much about brakes and I would like to fix them ASAP. Thanks.

Re: No brakes?

It's behind the black plug at the front.

Re: No brakes?

I held the button in while bleeding the rear brakes. Didn't do anything, I played around with the button while not bleeding the brakes, I tried the "tapping the pedal" trick, I let the truck roll down my steep driveway and stomped on them and still not much of brakes at all. If I push the pedal down 3/4 of the way, the brakes are there and slightly work. Other than that, nothing. I'm stumped on this one.

That's a possibility. But what's weird to me is that the truck drove into the garage with perfect brakes and after I re-installed the calipers, I have a small amount of brakes. I'm gonna replace the proportining vavle tommorow and if that doesn't work, I'm stumped.
