ECE super track bar & shock relocation
WOW! What a difference in the ride... I bought this truck with a 2/4 drop on springs and the ride was terrible.. Got rid of the pan hard bar and added a ECE super track bar and the shock relocation kit. I also added belltech Nitro drop 2 shocks. All I can say is the ride is 100% better. Here is a pic when I was getting the tail pipes relocated to allow the track bar to fit

Re: ECE super track bar & shock relocation
And after the left side tail pipe was relocated. I don't know why it is upside down

Re: ECE super track bar & shock relocation
I have the same setup under my 66 and using a different shock and it was also a big improvement. Did you use the bell techs on the front also?

Re: ECE super track bar & shock relocation
Yes I did. Since I had just bought the truck I didn't know anything about the shocks or if they were for a lowered truck so I replaced them all. I found them as a set of 4 for the truck

Re: ECE super track bar & shock relocation
After reading how your truck rode I looked into the Belltech shocks. I put the full set of street performance shocks on mine and they are really nice for ride and control.

Re: ECE super track bar & shock relocation
Did you use the supplied lower mount stud from ECE? I was trying to install this exact setup on my '69 and the stud was too big for the pin bushing. Also, I wasn't able to finagle the upper shock bushing into the upper mount. Any suggestions?

Re: ECE super track bar & shock relocation
No I didn't use the lower mount bolt it was to big but they supplied extra bolts with extra washers to use as spacers that worked fine. My top perch was tight also and had to be persuaded open a little bit with a pry bar so the top shock bushing would fit

Re: ECE super track bar & shock relocation
I stuck mine in the milling machine and used a piloted counter bore to open the sleeves up to 5/8 to fit the ECE studs. Looked at using just grade 8 bolts but with it in single shear figured it might move in the hole some. Liked the idea of the shoulder bolt to support the lower end of the shock.
