New Voltage Regulator - Lost headinghts
Went to the Spring Turkey Rod Run this weekend. Stopped for gas before we entered the show and checked under the hood and noticed the battery was boiling over. So yesterday I installed a new voltage regulator. So far the battery isn't boiling over but I have lost my headlights. Any thoughts of why I lost my headlights? All other lights are working properly. Thanks' in advance for your input.

Besides the wiring, it could be headlight switch, dimmer switch or the bulbs burnt out. Test light will go a long way to troubleshooting.

Didi you check the plug for the headlights on the radiator support? Maybe it was knocked loose somehow.

My truck was overcharging and someone here suggested to check the ground between the regulator and alternator. That tip helped me out. Measure across the battery terminals, it shouldn't be more than about 14 1/2 volts.

Could be a coincidence.....I would turn the headlights on and click the dimmer switch and see if the brights come on. Typically when both go headlights go out, it has to do with the dimmer switch dying out. (Had that happen in my 56 Chevy one night...scary when the lights all go out at once when you're flying down the road!
 )But yeah, if the fuse is good, I'd check the dimmer switch next.
