Question Tremec T-56 Swap Question - Crossmember?

To the guys that have done the T-56 swap in a 67-72, what crossmember and transmission mount did you use? I'm looking at the CPP tubular. Any reason why it won't work? I saw the "universal" ones at American Powertrain and SST but they look pretty hokey with all the adjustability.

Thanks.

Re: Tremec T-56 Swap Question - Crossmember?

I split a stock auto crossmember in half and it lined up correctly

That's one of those "universal fit" ones that just doesn't look like it belongs.

I've been told that CPP one will work correctly so I'll probably go with it. It'll match the other tubular crossmembers that are going in and be high and tight.

Thanks!

I used the CPP mount. It bolted right in with no modifications. My transmission lined right up with the differential.
