Low hump to high hump, metal work
Has anyone ever used a low hump to make a high hump? I have two low hump floor sections in my shed, plus a welder in my shop. Since I can't seem to find a high hump for a decent price, can I make one?

Re: Low hump to high hump, metal work
Have you been checking the parts board? Can you make one? depends on your skill level with a welder and cutting tools i would guess, anything is possible.

Re: Low hump to high hump, metal work
Why do you need one? I traded one of my high humps for a low hump section and made a bolt in low hump. I have a body lift and it works better this way for my twin sticks. I bet you could sell your sections and make the money for your high hump purchase and save yourself some hard work and several days. I haven't checked the clearance on my Blazer yet and may need a low hump instead of the high hump that was in it when it was 4x4...

Re: Low hump to high hump, metal work
You would need to duplicate the shape of the High Hump to make the carpet or rubber mat fit correctly.
Seems easier to bolt in an oem high hump.

Re: Low hump to high hump, metal work
Sorry, I should have phrased the question better. Yes, I can make one. The goal is to use stock high hump carpet. I was hoping someone could provide the dimensions of the high hump unit so I can modify the low hump.
Thanks for the suggestion on selling the low humps. Honestly it hadn't crossed my mind since I assumed the low humps were so common. |
