Water Leak - Help
I've got a bizarre water leak.
I've included a few photos. It's near the back of the block, just under the intake/exhaust manifold. Anyone have any idea what is causing this leak? It leaks as soon as I put water in the radiator, with the engine NOT running. Any possibility this was some type of "casting plug" that popped out? |

Does anyone know if there is indeed a freeze plug on the 250's located in the area of the leak? The LEAK is located approx 6" behind the carb, and just below a bolt that secures the intake/exhaust manifolds. |

Re: Water Leak - Help
here is a pic of a bare 250:
but I suggest taking off the intake and exhaust and doing further investigating

Re: Water Leak - Help
Okay...
I looked closer at the photo of the head, there are 3 freeze plugs and one of them is located exactly where the leak is coming from. I'll be pulling it apart next week, then I'll know for sure. |

Re: Water Leak - Help
Judging by how much water is coming out I'm almost sure its a freeze plug. Crack or blown head gasket wouldn't let that much out. New freeze plugs are cheap.
