My 1970 C10 in the UK
Just got this 1970 C10 shipped over to the UK, Its a short bed with a 350 SBC, Auto Box and its been lowered some but not sure how much. Just sorting the bits and bobs I need to register it over here, Head lights, Windscreen washers, Amber indicators that are separate from any other lights, Rear number plate light etc
There are a few things that need looking at, One of the outer tie rods didn't have a nut on when it arrived and the inner tie rods don't come through the (not sure about the proper name but) "bar" far enough, the one that links the two inner tie rods together so Im going to pull it (the bar) off and have a look I think it might be after market as its chrome ? I have sorted all the wiring out at the rear as it was all over the place and I need to sort out a leaking axle shaft seal but over all Im very pleased with the truck its a good solid starting point for a nice truck. The first thing im going to change is the wheels and tyres, they look too small, I would like some nice original Rally type wheels but I might just fit some bigger tyres to the ones that came with the truck. |

If your gonna come on here you need to speak English. Just kidding. I like truck a whole lot. The "bar" your talking about is a center link or also known as a drag link. I have never seen a chrome one though but I have not look for one. I think the rally wheels would look real good on there with some white letter tires[tyres on your side of the pond]. unfortunately This is illegal and against the law in the uk. Also if it is found that a serviceman is selling the parts on he will be in great trouble also.

Cheers from NC and it looks like you have a great truck to start with. You will find the people here very helpful with every truck issue you have. I look forward to seeing your progress. I do wonder how a LWB is going to fit in on the roads there.

Hi there from another european 67-72 owner!
I drive a 72 GMC c20 Sierra longbed...not the easiest car to go shopping with in The Netherlands  But that's what I have my company scooter for I know what you mean with the cost of ordering parts. Just bought a pair of mirror brackets and shipping was about $ 50,-  erik

Welcome from another UK C10 owner, got mine late Dec last year, still not on the road. Similar issues to you, no washer pump, no seat belts and play in all the suspension and bushes.
Shipping parts from the USA is a killer !! i wished i had know what i would have needed i could have had it shipped with the truck. The front lights are just std 7" sealed beam type ones, i used these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Corti...item3f309ff72b The front lights in your grill i take it are indicators ? just put orange bulbs in them. The side orange lights i swapped to work as indicators. The rear i swapped the reversing lights to indicators and fitted them with orange bulbs, i used this post here to help me change over the wires which was quite easy to do. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...61&postcount=2 Let me know if you need any more info, my daughter has just started working in Warwick Castle and often get roped into dropping her off and picking her up so will be up your way.

As for the wheels the Cragar SS,s are growing on me but I think I need bigger tyres fitting

Got some new bigger tyres fitted now, Bought some 255/70/15's General Grabbers and I think they look a lot better.
