Front shock question...
My 68 has been lowered 4'' according to the previous owner and the front shocks are shot!! Will I need a shorter shock or can I replace it with a factory length unit?

I've got 4.5" drop in the front with stock height kyb,s and when I put the motor and trans in today I noticed my front shocks were way past center now.

Go to parts store get stock shock. Look on the box for the measurment. Cut 4" off of it and ask if they have anything.

How was it lowered? Drop spindles won't change your shock travel at all, so it you have 2" drop spindles and 2" springs you are only changing the shock travel 2". I would still say you need new shocks but keep that in mind as it may mean you haven't changed the shock travel 4".
