I need to see pictures of a stock 'Burb gas tank...

...Or Panel, installed. I recently bought a new re-pop tank for my Panel and I have a few questions and I guess I didn't take any pictures of when I took mine apart. I need to see how the stock hanger straps are attached. I can't find my original hanger straps, so I need to figure the best way to use the re-pop straps. I really don't want to drill new holes in my powder-coated frame, either.

And another thought--I was watching one of those car shows the other day and they were building a '69 C-10 and briefly showed a shot of their re-pop tank and the straps were running front-to-back. Any thoughts on that? If I have to drill holes, maybe it's better to drill them in the X-members.

Thanks.

I just removed the original tank from my Panel. I didn't take any pictures of it installed but the straps went from frame rail to frame rail and the "J" hooks went into holes on the outside of the frame rails. I can take pictures of the straps and where they attach on the frame in the morning if that will help.

Yeah, I can use that. Thanks, Leon.

I'll look around some more for my stock straps, but I have a bad feeling that they went away.

There are some og straps on eBay. I would try to avoid using the repro ones if you can.

This is the LMC Suburban tank in my 68 GMC. Tim cut a hole in the tank top and welded in a bulk-head fitting that uses the Stock OEM GM, in-tank fuel pump and gage sender assembly.

Here are some close up pictures. The "J" hooks were on the drivers side and the "S" hooks were on the passengers side. The round holes on the sides of the frame is where the hooks were installed....

Thanks, Leon. That helps a bunch. I may just fab up some new straps that are closer to original, rather than use what I have.

Why is the filler neck on the wrong side? Suburbans were in the drivers side
