750hp on stock frame? Stock type suspension?

Aright guys looking for some real life experience here for the guys that run big horsepower with a stock frame and stock type suspension. When I say big horsepower my motor will be done in a few weeks and were expecting a 750 hp at the flywheel on nitrous between 550-600 and motor using a induction solutions crossbar plate with standalone fuel sustem with race fuel to make up the rest to 750hp, that's big power for me lol it's a 385 ,solid roller .690+ lift with cncd afr 210 heads that have also been hand ported, it's in a 69 shortbed c10 has an ece 4/6 drop on it with tubular trailing arms mounted in the stock location to the stock crossmember, front and rear roll bars, truck weighs 3750lbs, Frame has been boxed in a few places with tubular crossmembers, my question to you guys is how much do I need to stiffen up frame trans crossmember trailing arm crossmember etc. truck at end of last season pulled 1.7 60ft times and ran 12.60s @107 with a 400 flywheel horsepower 383 on a 28-10.50 et slick, also has a 700r4 with 3600 edge converter and a built 12 bolt with 4.11s , so if you guys have any advice on suspension setup, tires, etc. that would be great trying to get everything ready for getting the motor back in a few weeks!

If you don't plan on making traction you should be ok. You'll find the weak links when you HOOK.

Try a run without the front swaybar, should get some more weight transfer. Still almost 1 whole second faster in the 60' than me. Best of luck, sounds like it should be fun.

Re: 750hp on stock frame? Stock type suspension?

not the horsepower but the torque,is it caged?may want to rethink your trans and rear if it is not built strong enough to handle it.What about the driveshaft has it been upgraded,1350 joints etc, like someone here has already mentioned, put power to them you will find the weak link.Is this street/strip,just strip, whats your plan for the truck.

Ricksrat that is a bad ass truck! Looks like you are still running a 12 bolt? If so what all is done to your rearend? I just talked to my buddy were gonna put c clip eliminators on my 12 bolt before I get the motor and trans back, what kind of ets are you running and what is the weight of your truck?

Thanks Regan. Yea the 1.28 surprised me was running at HMP on a Sunday night and they prep the track really good for Grudge matches. Would trade it for a 151 mph in a minute . Best I've been is 9.40@138 with old combo. Hope to see near 150 with new combo after a gear change.

Re: 750hp on stock frame? Stock type suspension?

No problem I appreciate the input! Those are some serious track times I'm hoping if I can get it to hook and nothing break that I will be in the 10s on the plate.

I pull 1.39's off the foot brake little bit of spin, going to try to take another 75-100lbs off it this year.

Anyway done hijacking back to the regular thread topic.

71 GMC, all steel except hood, 3745lbs plus my 260, 489 pump gas BBC, dyno'd 626 with a Demond 750 carb, now running a 1000 CFM pro systems, guessing 650 to the crank plus I use 180hp jets in a Zex plate.

Turbo 350, with a 5000 stall on bottle, custom 2 piece drive shaft..

Back is 4-linked, Comp Engineering fab 9" with moser internals and case 4:30 gears, spool, 32x14 Hoosier slicks. Strange double adjustable coil overs, Willwood drag brakes

Front is a Scott's bolt in IFS with Mustang II spindles and manual rack, Afco double adjustable's coilovers and willwood hubs and brakes.

It's street legal, but this year I'm pulling the full exhaust and my front inner fender wells.

Re: 750hp on stock frame? Stock type suspension?

Hell yea man that is a bad ass setup! Thanks for the info I appreciate it I'm hopin to have the truck done(motor, trans, and rear)in a month or so and the motor is being ran on the motor builders engine dyno so it will be tuned and ready to roll once I get it back so should have it at the track not to long after that, I will keep everybody updated on what's going down with everything.

Re: 750hp on stock frame? Stock type suspension?

I have the power, but don't leave nearly as hard as you guys.

My best so far is a 1.76 60'.
3.73 gears and a 305/45/18 Mickey DR.
Trapped 122 @ 4450 race weight....so in the 650 whp ballpark at 10 lbs of boost on E85

No cage, but I boxed 90% of the frame, and added some bracing.

That's a great looking frame, how do you like the 305/45 18 drag radials do they hook pretty well?

Re: 750hp on stock frame? Stock type suspension?

My best on stock trailing arms was a 1.57. That was no cage and no frame upgrades. Converter was about 1,400rpm too tight (4,500rpm, motor made peak tq at 5,700 rpm). Never got to hit that combo with the bottle out of the hole. It made 449rwhp at 7,100rpm and weighed 3,540 with me in it.

Weighs only 6 lbs compared to the stock mount that weighs 15lbs, and gives a lot more room for the 3.5 exhaust I will be running.
