C10 questions
I am beginning to put some work on the c20 but have a few question before i go forward
Is it possible to level the truck? I will be replacing the front springs due to the previous owner dropping the front so much it bottoms out literally over every bump. Also what would you recommend to get done first. problems.... suspension as i previously stated. hacked dash a lot of random wires hanging and unused inside dash needs all new tubing for heater carpet oil gauge back in the cluster gas gauge reads from the halfway mark on (half full is empty) and carries over when full past the full mark thanks guys |

Re: C10 questions
Welcome from Texas! This is the best site to learn about these trucks. Hands down. I have been able to find answers to almost all of my questions just by using the search, tech tips, FAQ, etc..
But if you still have questions, this site is full of nice folks with mind blowing knowledge of these trucks and are always willing to help. But the first thing you will need to do is give some more info/pics of your truck. Like, if you want to level your truck, is your rear end coil or leaf spring? There is a whole section dedicated to suspension here. There is also an electrical section that you can fing some diagrams to help you fix those wires and gas gauge. (That is what I would fix first) Good luck!

Welcome from Ventura. You are just up the road from me. I would take care of the wiring and suspension first. The previous owner probably cut or heated the springs? So can can probably buy stock springs for pretty cheap off Craigslist.

Re: C10 questions
Well first off you have a list. You could probably walk around the truck and add more to that list as well.
I would then go through the list and prioritize the things you want fixed. Some would be based on easy fixes. some might need to wait for money to fix if you have to buy any new stuff, but safety should (not always is) be high on that priority list. I would probably also tackle the wiring. There are guys on the forum like Tom K. from Phoenix AZ. (as well as others) who sell used parts at good prices also. I always suggest to tackle projects that can be started and finished within a certain time. If money is an issue then buy those parts first and have them on hand so it can be completed ASAP once begun And lastly don't fall into the trap a lot of people do and tear it down to bare bones to "do everything" only to have the project stall, sit for years, and be sold off for pennies.
