Keep it in the Family - 1972 C10 Stepside
So, I just picked up this stepside from my Uncle. He bought it in 1977 and drove it until 1998. At that point the steering was kind of sloppy and he didn't want to spend the money to fix it, so it has been parked in his garage ever since. I brought up the possibility of taking it off of his hands this past Christmas and he was very open to it especially since it would stay in the family. He had hoped to restore it at some point but the years kept passing by and he just didn't have the time. That's where I stepped in. I took a look at in in January and I was finally able to pick it up this past weekend. It has a Straight 6 with a 3 on the tree, but I'm going to go modern with the drivetrain....This is definitely going to be a long term project, but the best part of it all??? NO RUST!! There's just a little spot on the Driver side rocker where he said there was a leak, but the cab corners, passenger rocker and both doors are solid!! Pretty excited.....

That's sweet. Nice truck and with history to boot. Did you ever get to ride in it as a child?

I don't remember actually riding in it, but my uncle and my dad worked together in construction and I remember the truck from those times. My dad had a 77 Chevy 3/4 ton 2wd. Not as cool....and before that he had a Chevy Luv.....all Chevy for our family.....
