83 Speedometer question

I'm in the process of putting in all the wiring after my complete frame off but have a question about the speedometer cluster.
There is a set of 3 wires (red, black, green) that is bolted to the speedometer then connects to a yellow plastic box. Any idea what that box is and where does it connect to?
Thanks for your help.

Yes, that is the vehicle speed sensor (and it's buffer circuit inside the yellow box) that's used for cruise control. The cruise control wiring harness should have a connector that plugs into the socket on the yellow box.

Thanks for your answers.
Guess I can remove it since I'm not running cruise control.
