If it was listed on your SPID, I would say it was factory installed

Re: 1971 blazer... factory cruise???
Probably dealer installed they never came factory. I tossed one years ago thinking it was some crap the prior owner stuck on. Found out later it was worth some money. Never throw anything away was my lesson.

Re: 1971 blazer... factory cruise???
GM stopped installing cruise control as an option after 1970 (listed on SPID). In 1971 and 72 it was a dealer installed accessory. I have a correct accessory set up in my K20 and it looks like this example here: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...20&postcount=3
I don't know enough about the 1970 and earlier factory cruise set up to comment on yours but these did come with a chrome handle IIRC. I'd post to the pickup forum you'll get more comments.

Re: 1971 blazer... factory cruise???
The chrome handle was a 72 only item. That alone could be worth some $$$
Looks to be a correct part, is it complete and functioning?

Re: 1971 blazer... factory cruise???
This was the cruise activator in 1972 and I believe 71. In these years the GM cruise control did not use a column mounted switch/turn signal control:

Re: 1971 blazer... factory cruise???
It may be factory (1970 or earlier) but definitely not factory for 71-72 pickup/K5/Suburban nor the dealer unit that was offered for MY 1971 or 72.

Looks like I have to get my facts straight before I distort, hope I didn't mislead you to far
pete, if it does a underpass switch, was it lighted. More accessible on the stalk

Re: 1971 blazer... factory cruise???
Jim from what I recall GM made use of a similar switch after 72 that was lighted. The switch above isn't lighted. Here's what I believe is the lighted, later style cruise switch

question on your later post, do you know what years used the chain, as opposed to the cable that goes to the carb Can you use both switches together, seems you have a pigtail on your switch that I don t have

Re: 1971 blazer... factory cruise???
I'm not sure if the two switches can be combined for use or not. Wait, on second thought, definitely not so you should sell me the non-lighted cruise master control
I'm really not too up on the other year cruise controls but I believe the 68-70 had a chain. However, there are also period correct aftermarket set up that I believe made use of a chain as well.
