Newbie
Just joined the board and figured I`d say Hello. Just picked up a project I`ll
call a 1970 C10 short bed that I`m starting. It`s a 1970 cab mounted on a 1985 G-Body Monte Carlo chassis. I`ve got a alum. head 427 bbc,TH400, with a 9" _ _ _ _ rear. This board is crazy with activity. I`ve been a member on another board for H-Body`s and your lucky if there is a dozen posts a day, but there aren`t a lot of Vega`s and Monza`s left Any Board members in Southern New Jersey? Bill |

Re: Newbie
Welcome from NC. Sounds like you have a very interesting combination.

I will be posting pics as soon as I have something to post. Got to get rid of
the rust first so I can see what I`ve got to work with. Bill |

Re: Newbie
That cab looks pretty close to rust free. Of course the usually rusty areas are metal free too.
Looks like a nice place you have there. Lots of trees and not a lot of neighbors????

Re: Newbie
I've got a truck in my shop right now that has that rust in the cab, or did have. I cut the roof of that sucker and put on another one from one of my parts trucks. the only hitch was once we got the roof on and tacked in place, we found rust on the back panel too that was covered by filler so I'm adding a strip now.

Re: Newbie
I think the problem with my roof is that little black hole you see in the 3rd pic.
Somebody had a CB antenna on it. There was no sealer on the plug they put in to close the hole. |

Re: Newbie
Sure would be nice if they would start punching out affordable new cab shells for these trucks, and supplied the 2 rivets to install the VIN tag.
