Finally found my truck

I'm not a new member but I have finally found my truck. A 72 short bed custom deluxe. It's my daily driver as of right now sold my daily driver to buy it. As soon as I find another daily driver this project will take off I'm lucky I have a wife and kids that are fully onboard

Interesting approach, I like your style.

Mentally easier for me to get a truck running again that I have actually drove before. (I'm a procrastinator).

Thanks but it's far from done up close the paint is awful either home made or real cheap. Suspension needs rebuilt some engine work springs and tires to start out paint will probably be last. There's no rust that I have found. The tires are Michelin 31" tire that make it sit very odd.

Well congrats on your find when you get to the paint part and if you have questions I'd be glad to help. Jim

Re: Finally found my truck

has anybody run across a three position toggle switch mounted above the filler neck inside the cab. I found one it looks like the wires might run to the cargo light but not sure.

I think somebody wound have added that, never seen one on our trucks, just the 3 position valve on the floor if you have additional gas tanks.

I'll post some close ups soon. However I did look for a couple years before I pulled the trigger. This truck is far from done but way better than what I've drove 3-4 hours to see in the past, I drove through Atlanta traffic at 3:30 on a Friday to see this truck so I was grateful that this one was in pretty good shape cause after driving through that I was leaving with something

Re: Finally found my truck

No additional tanks I'll have to trace it out. But I looks like it runs to the cargo light.

Nice!!! Looks like it just needs different tires and an altitude adjustment and call it done

Re: Finally found my truck

congrats on the beautiful new toy. slap some 275/60's on those rims and get'r done. The nice thing is, it looks like the PO at least took the time to get all the trim and hardware so you won't have to go searching for all that. What's the interior like??

Re: Finally found my truck

Nice little shortbed. The switch was probably for wiring to lights if it ever had a cap on it
