Wheels and Factory Caps Question
I need a little help from the wheel gurus.
I picked up a super nice set of wheels awhile back. Standard 15" GM 6-lug measuring approximately 6-1/2" from lip to lip on the width and about 8" across the inside of the recessed lug area. I really want to run the factory style caps on these wheels, but at this point I'm really confused as to what caps I need to be looking for and rather or not I need to install clips on these wheels before i have them painted/powder coated. These are the factory caps I like. I know there is some difference between 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton, 64, 65, and 66. Someone just tell me what my options are and if I knew what wheels I actually have, that would probably be helpful also. Thanks for any clarification on this stuff. I'm lost at this point. THANKS!

Re: Wheels and Factory Caps Question
The caps you need will be the 15" caps that measure 10 1/4" on the back or you can use a 16" cap and remove the back inner ring. The 15" cap with the open back 10 1/4" would be easier to source.

Re: Wheels and Factory Caps Question
Okay. Good info! Will I need to add clips to my wheels, or do those 15 caps just pop right on?

Re: Wheels and Factory Caps Question
No....you have the 3 nubs on your rims that will hold on the caps. The clips go on the wheels that do not have the 3 or 4 nubs depending on year of manufacture of the rim.

Re: Wheels and Factory Caps Question
The caps you have pictured are 64-65 caps, 66 have a rib around the edge.

So, it sounds like I'm after 64-65 caps that measure 10-1/4"? That definitely seems to jive with the dimensions I have. Great! This is the look I'm after, right here. White 64-65 cap with black on black tire and wheel combo.
