1979 Shoulder Harness Setup

Anyone have some photos of their 1979 With a shoulder harness seat belt setup? I scored some nice ones from the pick-n-pull to replace my lap belts in me 1974 C20 project.

The 1979 housings are more than twice the length of my 1974 housings, and the base of the 1979 housing doesn't seem to follow my seat riser very well... so, if you can post some top and side shots of your 1979 shoulder harness setups, I would appreciate it. I find it hard to believe that Chevy would change the seat riser and floorboard configurations, so I must be doing something wrong.

Thanks,
Dave

Re: 1979 Shoulder Harness Setup

There are indeed 2 different seat belt housings. Went through that when I was looking to replace mine. Ended up going aftermarket. Junk yard was full of the longer type like you picked up but I couldnt find a decent set in a color that would match of the shorter.

Once the rain stops, I am going to pull my lap belt setup and see if there is some magic that allows these longer housings to fit the kick-up in the seat riser and still align with the mounting hole and not look goofy.

Re: 1979 Shoulder Harness Setup

Well... pizzant! My 74 seat is 4"-5" too wide to allow the 79 to fit. So... anyone looking for a nice set of Blue 79 Shoulder Harnesses?
