Had a Durr moment... Bad fuel pump now?

Ok, So here's the deal, I pulled the old gas tank from my 69 GMC 1500 because it had about half an inch of sludge in it. While I had it out I got the bright idea that it'd be good to blow out the rest of fuel system to try and purge any crap that go left behind. I unhooked the fuel line from the carb but still left it hooked through the fuel pump, now after reassembling everything and a fresh new tank/sending unit I get gas to the fuel pump after using a little hand pump to prime the lines but can't get the pump to push any gas to the carb. Did I blow the diaphragm or valves in the pump using compressed air on it?

It's a 250 I6 engine if it makes any difference.

I had this same issue pour gas into the carb and turn the engine over, and it will eventually pull the gas. I had the same problems with my 270

Possibly blew a bunch of crap through the lines and into the fuel pump, it might be OK but plugged with gunk.

If your tank had that much garbage in it, it should be assumed that your fuel lines, and fuel pump would also have the potential of being just as filthy. In your case, I'd pull the lines of and individually flush them out to ensure your fuel system is clean and ready to transport fresh gas to the carb. It'd also be a good idea to replace your soft fuel lines if you haven't done so already.
