Re: Rhino's 1965 SWB Fleetside build
I bought a 5.3 out of a mid 2000's silverado and planned to mate it up to the TH350 that was in the truck... though the TH350 needed a rebuild and a shift kit.
Heads were removed and planed smooth. Upgraded valve springs and replaced a few valves that had gotten a bit hot in the first 112,000 miles on this engine. I left the bottom end alone but swapped cam for a comp cams .534 lift 112 LSA unit that hot rod has used in a few carb build up. should be good for 415 hp. but we shall see. I replaced the pan with an F body unit and a new double roller chain as well. edelbrick intake and MSD controller box. I also have a set of Sanderson CSLS1 headers to go on once i got it in the truck. |

Looking good buddy! Love the fuel injection swaps in these. Hard to see the tank in the frame from the profile view picture. Which tank did you go with?
I'll be following this thread. Posted via Mobile Device |

I used the tank from CPP. now that i look it wasnt bolted in on the profile picture, but you can see it in the shot with the cab on.

Re: Rhino's 1965 SWB Fleetside build
I didnt have a seat for my truck so i have been searching high and low and everybody seemed to want a fortune for a seat or the shipping would kill me...
that is until yesterday.. I scored this beauty on Craiglist for $250. frame was just blasted and powder coated and professionally reupholstered. its out of a 70 c 10 but should look "right" enough for me. it is easily the nicest part of my truck now... [IMG][/IMG] |
