I need help with a crossmember on my wood floor

I am converting my metal floor to wood. I am not sure exactly where the rear crossmember bolts to my frame. There are 3 holes in the frame that it could possibly bolt to. I am hoping it bolts to the middle hole so I don't have to relocate my fuel fill on my tank. If I was to bolt the crossmember to the middle hole on the frame it would measure 5" from edge of frame to edge of crossmember (see pic). Please confirm this is the correct location? My frame is a 1972.

I put a blazer tank in my 72 stepside and the fuel filler could not be a worse spot. directly under the cross member. I had to leave the cross member out completely, trim the bolts short and fender washers

I definitely don't want to hack up my crossmember. I was hoping someone could confirm where to bolt it to the frame. Just to be safe, I think I'm going to drop the tank and move my filler neck. Thanks for the reply.

I dont know about aftermarket tanks, but if using stock type blazer tanks, you have to leave out the second crossmember i mentioned anove when using a wood floor. On steel floor fleetsides there is one attached to the bottom of the bed floor the can be trimmed down to about half heeight to clear the filler.

My tank is out of my buddies boat not an aftermarket tank lol. All I did was cut/trim, fabricate the mounts for the stock LS fuel pump and add a baffle to it. I have no problem moving the fill neck if I need too. Thanks for info.

Are you going to use the ss bed trim pieces, if you use oem pieces they are predrilled and this will determine where your crossmember will end up

Or you can buy blank trim pieces and drill your own holes, but they to be square to hold the carridge bolts
