Question on pitman arm
I have a 71 Chevy 2wd I installed Power steering on. The steering box came from a 77 or so model truck out of the junkyard, anyways I need a new pitman arm cause mine has alot of play in it. Are they the same? which one do I need to order for. Thanks.

Your installing power steering into your non-power steering truck?
If so, then the hole size on your pitman will be different from the spline shaft of the box. Go back to the 77 in the junkyard and grab the pitman arm off it. You need a pitman arm from a truck that has power steering.

I already have swapped the steering boxes. I took the same pitman arm from that box in the yard. But when I turn my wheel the pitman are shaft that goes into the linkage moves before the linkage does. I was just assuming I needed a new pitman arm, so I didnt know If I needed to order an arm for a 71 or a 77 cause I am unsure of the year at the junkyard. I just assumed there were all the same and wanted to double check. Thanks.
