Clutch Pedal Height

Finally picked up my new ride this weekend, but have a Clutch Pedal Issue.

When released the pedal comes almost 6 inches higher than the brake pedal.
Engages and disengages fine for shifting, at what seems like the right place. but then pedal keeps coming up. more than doubling the distance from floor.

I am sure I have seen a post on this already but cant find it now that I need the info.

Any Help is appreciated.

Re: Clutch Pedal Height

Assuming this is a mechanical linkage clutch: The clutch pedal should be just about level with the brake pedal, maybe a little higher. Mine used to be quite high until I re-bent the bracket that holds the return stop bumper under the dash. Look there.

Same deal with my 63 the stop was bent way up I had to bend it back down and there should be a rubber stopper on it also. It ain't easy to bend it back.

Re: Clutch Pedal Height

Looked under dash and nothing looked bent. Did find a hole that lined up with pedal. Insert bolt nut and a spacer. Stop installed.

Thanks.
