Aftermarket door panels
Can I get some reviews on aftermarket door panels? I'm "restoring" my 80 c10 and would like to have new door panels. I'd like to know who's ordered some and been pleased and who's ordered some and been disappointed. Please and thank you!

I ordered a set from LMC for my 77. They fit pretty good and look 10 times better than the set I had.

I've got blue LMC door panels in my 77. They are way better than my old crusty ones. I also ordered the arm rests, but I'm not happy with them, because the blue paint is wearing off. I think I might try one of the paint products that others have used.

I have LMC door panels in my truck & they are just ok. They feel thinner than factory panels & just look ok not great. I'd like to find a set of factory panels.

219.95 for the 77 to 80 bare panel set seems quite reasonable to me. I am not excited about painting my already painted door panels.

I got mine from LMC and was a bit disappointed initially. They are blow molded, so the material and process looks and feels cheap compared to OE.
However, I saved the Scottsdale trim from my old ones and added it to the new, as well as new door handle bezels, etc. Once they are trimmed out I felt like they looked pretty good. K

If LMC would offer buckskin color instead of saddle for a 77 Silverado I would've gone that route. I may switch to saddle (not crazy about that color) so I can get the armrest to match, I've yet to find an arm rest that I can die.
Justin/Keith, understood the quality but panels do look good in the pics, did the window felt line up with the door panel okay? |

I ordered a set of "coverlay" brand replacements for my 79 K30, and I had them out of the box for about 20 min before I boxed them back up and shipped back. #1 They are alot thinner #2 The inside window felt is sstapled on, which is bad because when this cheap piece wears out you cant replace it and also because the factory felt also has a clip on it to secure the panel to the door. #3 The plastic in and around the holes for the screws to secure it were so thin that the screw heads pulled right threw it (thats hand tightening with screwdriver)
My advise spend the money on a original pair and dye them, it wont cost you that much more.

Those are the same ones i just sent back.
I just bought a original pair for less than those cost. Like i said i would be patient and find the real deal.

I have the classic industries panels in my '78. They look ok...the color doesn't quite match, but they tell you that on the box. After four years of light use, there are areas where the paint is scratching off. The door pull looked cheap, so I always close the door from the metal door skin rather than the door pull. They are ok, not great, i would buy them again.
